Burn has previously come through the youth teams of both Sunderland and Middlesbrough. During his time with Middlesbrough, Jonny had loans spells at both Kilmarnock and Oldham Athletic before signing for Bristol Rovers in 2017.

Spells at York City, Darlington and Whickham followed before joining Whitby Town in the Northern Premier League.
