MATCH PREVIEW
Both sides come into Wednesday night's game in less-than-ideal circumstances with both only registering a single league win in their last 5 outings.
I would like to take time to show our support for Sunderland RCA, we admire how valiantly they have gone about their work in order to keep their team alive and you have the best wishes of everyone at Northallerton Town beyond Wednesday night's game.
CURRENT FORM
Northallerton were brought back down to earth so to speak as they left Whickham without any points after a much-improved performance against Newcastle Benfield the week prior. Sunderland RCA have been plagued by off-the-field issues, leading to a raft of changes across both playing and non-playing staff. RCA have since lost 3 straight league games.
LAST MEETING
The last time the two sides met was a very enjoyable birthday weekend for our Media man as he saw Town register a 3-1 away win back in October. As was customary across the run of 3-1 away wins during that October/November run, Town would come back to win the game after conceding first.
The hosts would go ahead Kyle Fryatt sent Michael Annang-Colquhoun racing through on goal to fire RCA ahead inside 10 minutes. Town would level soon after with Matty Waters restoring parity, heading home from a Joey Hope cross.
Dan Hawkins would see red for RCA around the half-hour mark as he was adjudged to have denied loanee Jonny Shepherd a goalscoring opportunity. Shepherd would score not long before half-time with an instinctive finish to put Waters cross beyond the keeper giving Town a 2-1 lead at the break.
Shepherd would double his tally within 5 minutes of the restart to give Town the final scoreline of 3-1 with Matty Waters again playing the role of provider. A resolute performance from here on out for Town secured all 3 points.
