MATCH PREVIEW
Northallerton Town are preparing for a second Newcastle-bound trip in as many weeks, with Whickham the hosts for our latest Ebac Northern League fixture.
CURRENT FORM
Town broke a run of three straight defeats in all competitions, with the hard-fought draw away to Newcastle Benfield. It was a much-improved performance under the joint-interim charge of Stephen Jackson and Dan Jones and perhaps Town could find themselves unlucky not to walk away with a win.
Whickham fell to a 3-0 home defeat against high-flying Bishop Auckland last time out. However, there recent form has been positive for the weekend's hosts as they have recorded 3 wins in their last 5 games.
LAST MEETING
Town will be looking to record a league double over Whickham after coming out victorious in the reverse fixture.
Town won the early-December fixture by a 2-1 scoreline, with goals from Matty Waters and Charlie Graham giving Town a 2-0 HT lead before a heavily deflected effort gave the visitors a lifeline as the deflection deceived then-Goalkeeper Ryan Catterick who has since moved to Bishop Auckland.
Town would stand resolute in the second half to record a third straight win in all competitions before a mixture of the Christmas break and postponements enforcing a prolonged break.
